These clients were interested in removing the grass in their back yard and creating a space which could be more easily naviagated when hosting friends and family. The idea of reducing the maintenance factor of grass was also a motive to install the hardscaping in this project. A large main patio was installed with adjacent walkways leading to a smaller, and more private reading patio, and out-buildings and garage on the property. A pondless water feature of natural basalt columns was installed to add the pleasant sound of trickling water to the back yard.
