Selective Color Updates

Sometimes there are items in or near a room that just are not going to change, so the need for a paint color change is required to give the space a refresh or new look. Other times a new flooring or counter that were thought to mix with the current paint color ends up needing an intervention. Either way, color can be made personal to your space.

Originally the homeowner considered a burnt terra cotta color for this traditional kitchen. After sampling some color ideas, this warm gray, Silver Fox, helped balance the stronger pink tones in the flooring and makes a pleasing transition between the living and family rooms.

The wall directly across from the main door was painted in a faux finish using BM saddle brown as the base color. The ceiling was softened using BM Indian White and trim pops in a lighter off white SW Dover White.

The master bedding consists of shimmering burgundies and soft golds. The shimmery cast from the bedding gives the soft gold a green undertone. Benjamin Moore's Adams Gold HC-18 created the soft not too gold look the homeowner was after.

A rich gold was changed to a medium depth neutral , Benjamin Moore Mesa Verde Tan, to balance the prominence of the stone fireplace.

The original dark mossy green in the entry was changed to a medium brown/khaki, Benjamin Moore Meditation AF-395. The color change helps the metal art work stand out.
