These homeowners originally hoped to purchase an existing home in this neighborhood filled with classic Shaker Heights homes. Their goals for layout and energy efficiency ultimately led them to start from scratch, but they wanted to keep the traditional feel they loved. We included barn doors to separate the Away Room from the main Living Room, provided an open layout to the chef's kitchen, and a tin ceiling over the butcher block island.
