Shingle Style Home among Granite Ledge

A 12,000 square foot vacation home nestled among granite ledge by architect, Thom Rousselle. The clients desired a naturalistic landscape design that preserved the largest trees. The challenging grade changes were addressed by the design of granite retaining walls which protect existing trees and create terraces for outdoor living. Boulders salvaged from on-site blasting were integrated into stonework throughout. The ledge outcrops were exposed further to provide a sense of drama and help define the garden edges. Views of the beach and marsh are accentuated and carefully placed evergreens provide screening of the neighboring properties.
