Lake Michigan’s crystal blue waters make a riveting backdrop to this renovated lake retreat. Inspiration came from the natural environment and created a landscape that offers respite from busy lives.

Several thyme-infused bluestone patio areas provide fragrant and comfortable gathering spaces. Gunmetal granite was selected for driveway retaining walls and rugged architectural garden walls. Other unique amenities include a rustic beach staircase, fire pit patio, a meditative labyrinth, a tennis court wrapped with thousands of native meadow species and a shade-dappled patio near the cabin’s galley kitchen. A grand lawn allows for play and frames amazing views.

Native species comprise the main planting palette which includes hemlock, white pine, muscle-wood, redbud, serviceberry, bottlebrush, witch-hazel and a “Seven Son’s Flower”. “Pollinator-friendly” herbaceous plants include rudbeckia, monarda, rattlesnake master, joe-pye weed, echinacea, aruncus and actaea. Grasses provide movement.
