We built this 650 square-foot recording studio for a professional musician and recording artist. It was designed with the option to use it as an ADU or expanded living for the main house in the future. Plumbing for a kitchen was placed in the walls should the need arise to convert the space. Much deliberate intention was put into the design and construction of the space to meet the soundproofing and acoustic performance needs. The high-performance building techniques implemented to meet the acoustic needs also adds value in that very little energy is used to heat and cool the space.
