This was a typical early 1900's bathroom that was in good need of updating. Like many old houses though, it's not uncommon to come across surprises once the project gets started. After we got all the old tile demoed, we discovered all the floor joists were nearly rotted through and needed to be replaced. Once we did that, we got back on track and updated all the fixtures and tiling. The large format floor tile, walnut counter, and modern sink were a nice touch to an otherwise unassuming space. We replaced the clawfoot tub with an alcove tub/shower which allowed for some storage space beside it and is easier to maintain.
