This homeowner had us design a sophisticated rear projection mirror system almost ten years ago. A custom cabinet was built to house the system and conceal the electronics. This was state of the art at the time and the only way to get true high performance large format video in a space that was not dedicated to a dark theater room. The system has performed well during that time, but the time has come to upgrade to newer technology. The projector and part of the mirror system was replaced to give 4K performance. Proper planning and installation allowed for the cabinet, screen, and mirrors to stay in place for the upgrade. This breathes new life into an aging system while requiring almost no downtime.
