Southwestern Influence

As part of a whole house remodel, the great room takes on a new ambiance with its cultured stone fireplace. Believe it or not the previous homeowner didn't expose the fireplace and had been hiding it with furniture. Its recent remodel has given it and the entire home new life.

Seemingly quaint as an exterior wall, what one cannot see in this picture is the fireplace. Covered in furniture and unused was a choice made by elderly residents who did not value the look or appeal of the fireplace.

Hard to believe that this is the same fireplace! Amazing what the right flooring and cultured stone can do. After framing the fireplace wall with cement board needed for the cultured stone the end result clearly justified the remodel.

Without the stone facade on the fireplace that runs the full height of the wall the WOW factor was previously not evident. The grandeur of this finished great room is accented nicely with hardwood throughout and the cultured stone.
