Previously existing on this site was a symbol of our modern misunderstanding of nature; two layers of 1/4" landscape fabric (weed barrier) and a daunting surplus of mulch had ceased to thwart the efforts of any number of tenacious weeds which kindly took over as the prominent constituents of the garden. The goals were to reclemate the state of the garden, shrink the space of the garden (as to allow for volleyball), and culminate a diverse and unique array of plants in a natural styled planting that fit into a low maintenance/ no mulch plan.
