The horizontal grain of the walnut elongates the interior face of the cabinetry. Minimizing the number of wall cabinets allows for an open, airy feel.

The quartzite peninsula curves out into the bay window. The curve creates a longer edge for seating in a tight space, allowing a family of 4 to breakfast together at once.

The kitchen flows into an entry area which features a laundry sink and mudroom with built-in seating and storage. The central walnut cabinet articulates this transition while providing plenty of storage space.

The informal mudroom was opened up to the kitchen to create better flow through the house. The central walnut "tower" wraps around into the kitchen and becomes the center of this open plan. It houses the mudroom sink on one side, pull-out storage and cooking appliances on the other 3 sides.

The master bathroom in this home was expanded in 2 directions. The walnut vanity extends into the glass shower to become a seat. Note the raised pattern on the white tiles at the back wall of the shower.

The kids' bathroom has softer tones and more pronounced pattern without being overly loud. The porcelain wall tiles have 8 designs which are arranged into a pattern that wraps both the walls and the floor. The rotary-cut oak-veneered vanity adds warmth and a natural pattern at a different scale.
