This project focuses on transforming a steeply sloped San Diego property into a series of functional outdoor living spaces. The site presented significant topographical challenges, with limited flat areas and high risk of erosion.
To maximize usability, our design incorporated multi-level terraces supported by engineered decking with caissons, retaining walls and planting to stabilize the slope and manage water runoff. Select terraces were designed to accommodate outdoor features such as a spa, outdoor kitchen, planters, and entertainment areas, while stairways and pathways provide seamless circulation between levels. More importantly for the homeowner, wanted an easy passage form the house to the surf.
