The Laurel

Countless metaphors will work for the endeavor of designing a landscape but the lead designer referenced that the final result was in many ways a portrait of the client.

During the planning stages the proverbial big picture and details were discussed. Adjustments and revisions were developed over a two-year period and ultimately a working design was finalized.

The landscape is about sophisticated design approaches and a connection to the clients tastes. Inspired by Patina Farm in California, the client tagged her home as The Laurel.

When the landscape was completed, the lead designer shared his thought with the client that the landscape was indeed a portrait of her and her commitment to the project.

She paused, reflected and with refinement said, “There are a myriad of lights, darks, hues and tones in that portrait. There are multiple points of focus and tons of details that I appreciate. I’m sure glad I commissioned you to do the painting.”
