In an age of environmental and financial uncertainty, the MIX @ Monterey represents 21st century solutions to responsible and sustainable urban redevelopment. This ground-breaking, eco-friendly mixed use project showcases environmentally conscious redevelopment in a modern day setting. The MIX is a 15,000 sf, vertically integrated retail, commercial and residential facility specifically designed to leverage sustainable opportunities for mutual benefit of users, tenants and environment alike.
This project seeks to set the standard for sustainable & responsible architecture for downtown San Luis Obispo. In addition to implementing many Smart-Growth and Low Impact Development concepts such as high density infill, brownfield redevelopment, compact urban form, and on-site bio-filtration, the MIX has been designed to the highest standards of energy efficiency and green design. Traditional sustainable components such as correct solar orientation, passive heating and cooling, solar shading, and day-lighting are incorporated into the core design of all commercial and residential spaces. Additionally, contemporary sustainable features such as cool roof technology and renewable products have also been systemically designed into the project.
