The Piggeries Barn Conversion
Located in the heart of the Weald of Kent (AONB and Green Belt), the neglected Grade II listed barn and adjacent piggeries lay hidden behind a screen of overgrown shrubs. We successfully sought planning permission to covert both structures into spacious family dwellings. The grid of the proposed barn floor plans was based on the existing structure, thus keeping the sequence of existing bays and ensuring the timber frame remained integral to the new layout of rooms. The Midstreys with their large canopy cart door entrances were fully glazed, allowing diffused light into the living areas throughout the day. At first floor level a bridge traverses the midstreys, offering a 360 degree view of the beautiful oak structure
