This project began with a swampy, sodden area off the client's screen porch...what a difference. First we had to remove a dilapidated brick pathway, then dig out and install the natural stone retaining wall, then regrade the entire area to slope away from the house, bring in all the gravel and underlay materials needed for the patio underlay, and finally individually lay and cut the bluestone. The drainage stream works beautifully to take care of the water coming off the house, and the clients couldn't be happier with the end result. All in all, about 100 bluestones and 8 tons of rock were used to complete the design!
