Transitional Kitchen
For this busy executive, her kitchen was just a place where she could throw something in the microwave and brew a cup of coffee, but as life moves priorities change. She soon found herself dreaming of a new, more functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen space. By bringing in her trusted designer, they were able to compile her wish list and develop an exciting design with a timeless palette that met her more traditional taste. Taking advantage of the underutilized spaces of the previously awkward layout, the kitchen seemed to grow, feeling bigger and substantially increasing storage and accessibility. The inadequate lighting was transformed by integrating layers of light through the carefully planned orientation of 4” recessed cans, under cabinet lighting and blown glass pendants. The client’s final element was to include a casual seating area where she and her significant other could enjoy each other’s company with a glass of wine while preparing a meal together.
