The Legge Residence kitchen space is an eco-friendly, serene oasis of cool planes of color, shimmering metal and stone, bright accents, and generous natural light. The whole design process, from choice of materials, lighting to construction methods, was infused with attention to being "green." The subtle, light gray green low-VOC paint on the walls gives the space a calming atmosphere.

The kitchen is efficiently laid out with every inch of space utilized for storage of appliances and supplies. The cabinets along the back wall are locally made and painted a clean white with low-VOC paint. The island is a contrasting dark wood stain and an alternating metallic silver laminate stripe on living space side.
