The building which serves as the design showroom and retail home furnishings shop for Ty Larkins Interiors, was originally an Arts and Crafts home built in 1918. Decades later, it had been rezoned as a commercial space and was being used as an insurance agency but oddly, still retained the floor plan of a three bedroom, two bath residence when it was purchased for the firm's designer studio.

Because the structure was in grave disrepair and was not suitable for the intended use as a designer showroom, Ty gutted the interior of the structure to the studs and reconfigured the spaces creating a showroom and design office within. An open floor plan and neutral color palette was devised so that the home furnishings would be the star attraction.
