Velasco Residence

This project was for a client moving into a new home. In the new house, her two boys, ages four and five, would share a room. The client wanted to create a fun, upbeat room that, most importantly, would last them for a long while. She did not want the typical store-bought look. So I was inspired to use fun, bold, preppy colors and geometric patterns to make this boys’ room both youthful and classic. Instead of the traditional bedside tables with table lamps, I used a large console table between the beds and two wall-mounted sconces. A pair of cubes beneath the table pull out to provide seating for playtime or homework.

The living room is anchored by a comfortable navy sectional sofa, while sheers flanking the French doors create a light and open family gathering spot.
