Westlake Residence
This project is a Tudor cottage that has played host to some of Dallas’ most well-known residents. Herbert Marcus, father of Stanley Marcus, built this lovely East Dallas home in the 1920s. When new owners purchased it recently, it was in need of an overhaul after many unsuccessful renovations over time.
The kitchen was redesigned for modern functionality while preserving the feel of a 1920s Tudor cottage. The kitchen was opened up to flow into the family room and includes the arched detail in the cabinet design that occurs throughout the home. The result is a wonderful, cozy family retreat.
The powder bath was designed to have a modern approach to an historical look. The pewter vessel sink, bridge faucet, and antique table give the feel of a time gone by while the wallpaper gives the room a warm, inviting feel.
The master bath was completely renovated with white Danby marble to create a timeless and classic feel. Warm touches include custom painted doors, rustic beams, and iron sconces to stay in keeping with the Tudor style.
