This remodel was done in Tampa, Florida. This is a modern Mediterranean style double door. In the before picture you can see that it was once a brown 6 panel double door. The homeowners wanted a very grand and unique door. The doors are made of African mahogany and they have a dark mahogany stain. They also wanted some privacy but at the same time they wanted to have some light come through the doors. We made this door with a circular panel that provided some privacy and let light in.
The owners decided that they wanted to keep the transom but they wanted the casings to match. We removed the trim on the transom and then added wood trim work on top of the white casement that surrounded the doors and transom. This made the door and transom look like one unit and it was also a cost effective alternative to removing the casement and adding a new transom.
