Windsor

This sloping hillside property was designed for maximum self-sufficiency. The owners required a low-maintenance design that would resist deer, drought, and occasional neglect.

Rugged alpine groundcovers, bunchgrasses, and scattered granite boulders create a backdrop for flowering perennials and their attendant bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The basalt retaining walls were sourced from a local quarry. Crushed gravel walkways, LED landscape lighting, flagstone, and concrete fill out the project.
