I absolutely love my blue island and marble countertop. Many people don't like marble because of how delicate it can appear, but there are ways of taking care of your marble and I love how gracefully marble ages over time! This is the nature of marble, and if you decide to have it in your home, you must embrace its character as it ages.

Using a mild detergent/cleaner on marble example: soft soap works. Even baking soda and vinegar mix works also. It takes a little bit of elbow grease but it does work. Also catching spills before setting in works also. Some may disagree but it has worked for me.
I personally like the entire room. it has the seating, the cook/prep space, storage and the floors look great also. I would change a few things, for my taste, but the over all room is great!

I'm doing a similar layout in our remodel. What are the dimensions of the back wall with the fridge and the breakfast nook area overall and between the island and kitchen table. Do you have exits around the table? These are things I am concerned about when space planning and it looks like nice comfortable spacing in your photos.

So sorry for our late response! This kitchen and dining area are roughly 22.5' x 15' at its widest (and 15' is the measurement of the wall with the fridge since it cuts off at the dining area). The measurement between the island countertop edge and dining table edge is roughly 7' 1".

The dining table has a window bench, so the table is only open about 3/4 around.

Thanks for asking! Normally this will depend on how much room you need to open and close your door but also how much room you are most comfortable with. A safe measurement would be anywhere from 3-4 feet.

Thanks for the question! The ceiling color in this room was done in Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17 with flat finish on the ceiling and satin finish on the coffers.
