I don't know if you can get White Iceburg Granite, but it is gorgeous..you can try the internet -(find the supplier) and he can sell it to a granite company...hope that helps.

Hi there. Try Googling Super White granite. It has the same neutral whites/grays of marble. However, it is a bit edgier in that it has large particulates rather than flowing veins. It comes in a more matte finish than a traditional high-polish granite, is much less expensive than marble (at least in New England), and has the durability of granite. Good luck!

My kitchen designer advised against any chandelier type, they look nice but it is one more thing to clean. Once in a while I get a twinge to buy one, until I remember I'd be the one cleaning it. Having the wiring installed just in case is a good idea, though.

Hi Grammie Linda- I had the exact same situation and did not want to obstruct the ocean view....my fabulous electrician suggested recessed pinholes directly above the dining table. originally we intended to do three about 5 inches apart running length of table, but due to ceiling joist location did a tight rectangle of 4. they are tiny diameter, maybe 3"? and have a dimmer. We have plently of light on the table when needed and still have the view. good luck!

here is my layout (image). we decreased my island by 2 inches so it is 36" and this helped bring me to 60" from the island to the table. I do plan a narrower table some time in the future but am really hoping it won't be too crammed. thx!

When it was installed did it chage shades form the moisture in the Mastic and if it did does it go back to the original color? I just started some last night and it started changing shades almost immediately.

We used both light cabs on top and gray on bottom so I went with satin nickle on the top and oil rubbed bronze below; very happy. The polished and chrome were a bit too shiny for me. I wanted the hardware to blend a bit more. I think it depends on the look you're going for. If I can gather a pic I'll post later.

Over hangs of more than 12 inches needs support so the over hang in the picture looks like 15-18 inches.

jkaila: standard base cabinets are 24 in deep so you would have no overhang. Or if you want seating at the island, some cabinet manufacturers have reduce depth options where you can reduce your base cabinets down to 12 or 15 inches and then have a 10-12 inch over hang.

Wow Great Place

Looks to me like this kitchen has nine foot ceilings. If so, then the upper cabinets are likely 30-36" high, and the tiny uppers up top are likely 15" high, plus crown moulding.
These are perfect places to store decorative items, when lit like this, or for rarely used items that can be tucked out of reach.

It's hard to see the specific pull from the picture distance, but the upper cabinets look like they have a 6" pull and the lower drawers look like they are an 8" pull. The pulls look like they could be from Top Knobs.
