1960s Kitchen Remodel - Cotswold

The kitchen in this Charlotte, NC home was built in the 1960s and had been updated over the years with new countertops and multiple layers of new vinyl flooring on top of the original linoleum. But it was time for a complete refresh. We striped the space down to the studs. While the homeowners generally liked the layout of their old kitchen, there were too many issues that kept them from really enjoying it. Husband and wife, both busy professionals, love to spend time in the kitchen together trying new recipes and catching up. But the old kitchen with dysfunctional appliances had them singing the blues. The original cabinetry was dated and many of the drawers were difficult to open. The vinyl flooring was just plain “blah.” They coveted hardwood floors. Budget was a concern because they also wanted to remodel their master bathroom at the same time. We designed a hard-working kitchen that fits the bottom line.
