The original portico on this 1930s home in Charlotte's historic Eastover neighborhood was rotting and out of scale for this traditional home. We added an arched portico complete with copper roof and a stained bead board ceiling that was more in scale with the classic facade of this home. While the original portico provided little protection from the elements, the new one shades the front door from the harsh afternoon sun and keeps visitors out of the rain while waiting for the door to open.
