Addition to Kennedy House

Our client asked us to design an addition and renovation to their 1922 home in Minneapolis originally designed by architect Ernest Kennedy, who was also the architect for the Pillsbury mansion. The home lacked a good entry from the detached garage to the house, and also had an outdoor stair to enter the home (good luck in winter!). This addition is a classically inspired design consistent with the original home, and includes an elegant Rear Entryway that has Mud Room functionality, with a sweeping iron staircase that leads you up to the Kitchen, as well as a new Sunroom adjacent to the existing raised Terrace.
