Cabin on Lake Superior

A property of towering white pines along the shores of Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior was the perfect site to build this family cabin. The design was based on the simplistic styling of historic lakeside lodges of northern Wisconsin built in the 19th century - simple gable forms, exposed rafter and bracket details, and massive stone chimneys were all integral components of the design. The walls are clad in 10 inch exposed white cedar shingles, with berry colored windows and a muddy trim. A large wrap around screen porch is the go-to spot for summer dining and relaxing, with its own BBQ grill built into the living room chimney mass. A sleeping porch off the master in the second floor also shares this same chimney, with a separate fireplace to warm those cooler fall nights. On the opposite side of the cabin, a series of bedroom suites with lake views provide a private retreat for guests.
