Alameda Craftsman Bungalow

This bungalow is home to my own young family. It’s only about 1200 square feet, but I’ve managed to pack in a lot of functionality and charm into the small space.

I designed it to withstand the wear and tear of our daily lives, and with two kids and two cats, that’s asking a lot. So I utilized tough materials, including indoor/outdoor fabrics, leather, and velvet.

The decor may be tough, but it’s comfortable too. I love color, and I’ve used a lot of it here, to create a vibe that’s both happy and serene.

The result is a home that lives large despite its small stature. And the press has taken note: it was a Design Sponge Sneak Peek in November 2014.

The TV is integrated into a gallery display, which takes focus away from it when it's not in use. The rug is made of indoor-outdoor fibers, and the leather furniture offers easy clean up and lots of durability, too.
