This 1980’s suburban tract home was transformed by 3 separate projects: a master suite addition, a new front porch, and a rear yard renovation. Combined, the 3 projects result in a one-of-a-kind home as unique as our client’s preferences. Of special interest was how a house designed at the height of a car-dependent era could reestablish the front porch prominent in smaller, more walkable towns. The slow process of changing a tract home to reflect the unique lifestyle of my client was a great exercise in working within limits to expose the best possible functional and aesthetic outcomes.
