Having a great new bathroom space to enjoy at the end of a long day was the goal for these empty nesters. The home, built in 2000, featured a dated bathroom lacking the features the homeowners desired. Not only did they want a new space that they could enjoy, but they also wanted to keep resale value in mind. The space was redesigned within the existing foot print, with carefully considered plumbing modifications.

A must-have in the design for these homeowners was a 72 x 42" oversized soaking tub. The generous 6-foot Kohler oval basin tub provides an incredibly spacious bathing area, comfortable for two. The tub deck was designed with 18 x 18" San Michele Dorato Cross Cut tile from Daltile. Complimentary Listello tiles were repeated along the tub surround.

A small, traditional 36" shower was replaced with a new 6' custom neo angle shower with dual shower heads, bench, and two custom niches. The shower walls feature a combination of 12 x 12" San Michele Dorato Cross Cut, Listello, and 2 x 4 San Michele Dorato Mosaic tiles. 2 x 2 Tumbled mosaic crown the shower floor and niches. Cultured granite in Caramel was chosen for the shower bench and threshold.

The 6 x 24" Easywood glazed, porcelain plank flooring added to the beauty and interest of the space. And a conventional 6' vanity with a dual basin sinks was transitioned to his and hers' vanities to suit the homeowners needs. The Moen brushed nickel plumbing fixtures added a final touch of elegance.

The end result of this bathroom remodel is a relaxing, updated space with all of the amenities the homeowners desired. They now have a space that they can enjoy as long as they like and that will be attractive to buyers should they look to sell.
