Only having lived in their home for three years, this is the first major remodeling project undertaken by this young couple. The homeowners had been contemplating the project since they moved into their home and after talking to several contractors, decided to move forward. Our designers helped the couple turn their visions for the project into reality.

The goals for this contemporary kitchen remodel were to: incorporate additional storage space, create more available seating, and integrate a stronger visual impact into the design of the space.

In order to incorporate additional storage space, the existing island was extended. Included in the new space was a recycling bin, pull-out spice rack and pull-out niche for cookie sheets. To address the issue of more seating, a breakfast seating niche was integrated into the island design. The overall appeal of the space was tackled with the larger island which replaced the understated, existing island. The original granite was replaced with a new granite countertop that mirrored the existing perimeter countertops. New recessed lighting, cabinet pools throughout and a knee wall with a granite splash and cap rounded out the great new look.

The homeowners are so happy with their new kitchen. All of their goals were met and the kitchen is even beyond what they had originally envisioned.
