The goal of this project was to solve severe drainage problems and create a new outdoor living space. Excavation, grading and block wall underlayment creates a seamless, no step patio, relating to the existing deck. Perimeter drains surround the new architectural slab patio with seating walls to both retain the grade and provide additional seating. An innovative water feature channels water across the landscape. It is carved into supporting boulders and spills over an ornamental pot. Boulder rockeries support the background grade and a rock staircase allows access to the upper yards. Privacy is created by an ornamental screen fence with integrated iron artwork. Ornamental grasses compliment the wood screen and add to the privacy. Vibrant accent foliage and flowering plantings plus low voltage lighting complete the wonderful new environment.
