Campbell Craftsman

In the historic Longfellow neighborhood, a turn-of-the-century Craftsman home full of period details and exquisite woodwork was in need of a new kitchen with modern appliances that would work well for day-to-day use, accommodate groups while entertaining, and still respect the history of their home. A relatively small two story addition was constructed, and the kitchen was enlarged into the new space on the first floor, while a new master closet was added on the second floor. New cherry cabinets were installed and capped with crown molding to match the existing interior trim. Stainless steel appliances and granite countertops give the kitchen modern conveniences, while the glazed subway tile backsplash helps to maintain the historic charm of the existing home. A new bar, constructed from reclaimed oak, was stained a dark color to give it an aged appearance that blends in with the existing woodwork.
