Dream homes can come all at once or can take shape over time. For one Chaska family, their dream of a home was fulfilled by converting an unfinished lower level into a parlour for entertaining.

The couple approached AMEK Custom Builders during a recent Remodeler’s Showcase knowing they wanted to ‘wow’ space, but were unsure how. While they tried to visualize their dream beyond the concrete floor, exposed framing and joists and misdirected staircase, AMEK’s designers saw through the empty space to the heart of what the couple desired.

Exposed ducts became matching curved soffits defining the bar and kitchenette. Square Douglas Fir beams were added to the ceiling to define the place for cards and an open home theater could be viewed from nearly everywhere downstairs.
