Clyde Hill House

This new home in Clyde Hill, designed by architects Anne Adams and Stuart Silk, with an interior design by Patricia Schlapp, is based on the 19th-Century Classical Revival style reflecting the homeowners’ desire for a house that would look like it had been in the family for generations. Robust columns and pilasters, beadboard walls, and substantial trim details inside and out lend the house an air of timeless quality. Durable cedar roof shingles and cedar siding ensure the house will last well into the future. The series of roof gables took more effort to construct than a simple roof, but the gables add visual interest while enabling two fully functional floors to fit within the 25-ft. height limit set by local zoning code.
