Lake Washington House
Working with architect Stan Hanson and designer Terry Hunziker, Schultz Miller remodeled a 6,000-sq.-ft. contemporary house on the western shore of Lake Washington and then built a 9,000-sq.-ft. house beside it that serves as a counterpoint to the original home while making its own, bold statement. The new home features soaring walls of board-formed concrete, disappearing sliding glass doors, and a pool that slips inside under a glass overhead door. A geothermal system supplies heating and cooling, and photovoltaic solar panels contribute electricity.
