Craftsman House
This modern craftsman style house is a new build project for a young family in the Ithaca, NY area. The house contains 5-bedrooms, 4 bathrooms with a timber framed living room, front entrance, and screened porch. Custom details can be found throughout the entire house including cherry and walnut stair newels and island legs, living room built-ins to house a lift-up TV, ski lodge floor grates in the mudroom, cherry office French doors, master bathroom solid surface countertops, and more!
Most of the cabinetry in the house is from our cabinet line, Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry (kitchen, bar, guest bathroom, second floor library, master bathroom). A custom cherry door was created for the kitchen and bar cabinets with the addition of a square walnut peg in each corner to tie into the craftsman style. An accent walnut band was added beneath the island quartzite countertop to conceal the steel supports. A combination of douglas fir timbers, cherry and walnut trim, and java bamboo floors were combined to create a warm, rich interior. The exterior hints at the warm wood tones inside with the use of douglas fir accents within the Hardie board and batten siding.
Sitting on a beautiful piece of property, the house has great scenery to welcome a screened porch with a built-in outdoor kitchen, overhead heater, and a code-compliant lower screen railing to immerse the structure within the landscape.
