Dar Al Omeir

A residential plot is the site of an expansive modern split-level courtyard villa. The building layout features a central entrance that leads to a central water courtyard - the focal point for the ground and upper floors. From the front yard, the car entry leads to the basement floor which is connected to the recreation and pool areas at the rear yard. The layout is a modern representation of the traditional courtyard housing designed in a larger scale.

The front central entrance, bordered by the parallel wings of the U-shaped villa is a naturally lit pathway that leads directly to the courtyard. With overhanging balconies, openings at the upper levels, horizontal sunshades that mimic the traditional mashrabiya, the villa features local architectural values. Notwithstanding the size of the villa, an illusion of lightness is achieved by the building composition of overhanging volumes of quadrilaterals. The interplay of glass openings, sunshades, planar surfaces, and orthogonal forms convey the distinctly modern architectural theme of the villa.

With over 2,000m2 of living space, the villa provides generous areas and amenities that define today’s standards of luxury living and modern lifestyle.
