Davis Bath Remodel
The Davis powder room is the first of several projects we did for this Greenwood Village family. It's also one of the few for which I have "before" shots. The home was designed and built by an architect in the Arts and Crafts style. There was nothing Arts and Crafts about the old 3/4 bath, nor did they need a 3/4 bath, as a nearby guest room was to be converted to a study/music room. Barb Davis wanted a "drop-dead gorgeous" powder room, and that's what she got. We installed luxurious finishes, such as upholstered walls, soft carpeting, large crown molding, furniture-look cabinetry, a granite top, a hammered copper vessel and a framed mirror through which the light sconces and faucetry were installed. The black Toto toilet is the one thing that tells you this is a bathroom.
The fabric that upholsters the walls is a Kravet design from the period of 1903 - 1911, so it's absolutely true to the Arts and Crafts period in this country. It came in at about $1500, and was installed by a mysterious lady named P.J. Barb found her somewhere, and I'm always glad to have my clients help my cause. This project also won a CARE (Colorado Award for Remodeling Excellence) Award.
