Fernow Kitchen Remodel

A lighted column welcomes friends and guests to this award winning kitchen remodel in the Arts and Crafts style. This kitchen won a CARE (Colorado Awards for Remodeling Excellence) Award.

The old kitchen had been dark and outdated with tired appliances. Daylighting was improved by switching the old wood back door to a glass slider, and recessed cans and under-cabinet task lighting vastly improved work area lighting.

The Fernows chose a wide stile and rail Shaker door and Silestone counter tops. The diagonally-oriented tile backsplash features periodic metallic pyramids, and, if you look closely at the picture of a corner (with flowers), you'll notice that all the outlets have been painted to blend in with the tile. It's the craftsmanship of a company named Taken for Granite.

The glass door cabinets house Pat's collection of Arts and Crafts ceramics and pottery, and the stained glass piece was built by Bill. These pieces added greatly to the beauty of this kitchen.
