These clients were downsizing substantially, which allowed them to concentrate on creating a more upscale look for their new condo. They wanted their new home to be both formal and livable -- a fine line when there is only one large room for watching TV, entertaining, and playing with grandchildren. We opted for a low key neutral envelope with high contrast furnishings, details like shiny nailheads and cushy button-tufting, soft velvets and leather, marble -- nothing too precious but with a lux feel. By marrying their farmhouse dining table with new contemporary pieces and custom built-in features we created an eclectic look that defies categorization.
