Echo Park Spanish Renovation

Second Floor Renovation of a classic Spanish Home in Los Angeles's hilly Echo Park neighborhood, including new Kitchen, Dining area, entry, Living Room, Hallway and Staircase to the lower First Floor. The kitchen got a custom hand-painted new floor (on new white oak floor boards), designed by Chris Pearson, and executed by Zahra Ali. Photos by Bret Gum.

A stunning Heriz rug was added to existing furnishings to pull the room together, along with colorful designer pillows and a Spanish bench, using fabrics from Schumacher and Kathryn M. Ireland collections.

Custom kitchen island had a countertop made of reclaimed red oak -- from Ross Alan Lumber. This wood came from the Jim Bean Distillery in Kentucky, and the salvaged wood is called the Jim Beam Wood!
