A complete interior and exterior renovation of a 1920's Craftsman on a lovely village street. We redid the roof and rebuilt the chimney, as well as restoring the porch by adding the right kind of pillars, and railings at the correct height. Inside we tore down walls between a laundry room and dark kitchen, tore out a low-hanging soffit, and added French doors and a skylight to the kitchen. Throughout the house we saved the original wainscoting, but lowered the height of it to allow for more wall space for art. The fireplace surround was completely redone, and all the windows in the house were replaced with wood Craftsman-style new windows. The original hardwood floors were repaired and refinished throughout the house, including the kitchen. We were able to carve out room for an ensuite Master Bath by making the Master Bedroom a bit smaller. Two skylights were added to bring light into the house, and custom cabinetry and tiling with Heath Ceramics brought the house up to a classic look.
