This front yard makeover produced some challenges working around the city tree and front slope as not much excavation was permitted. We concentrated the new landscaping near the house with a bigger more inviting front entrance with an area for seating. A new porch, patio and gardens all contributed to the improved curb appeal and ease of access. The new patio was framed in by boxwood and stonecrop ground cover was planted on the slope to help retain soil and add some colour. A sprinkler system was installed to help the plants grow well despite competing with water from the tree roots.
