The front and backyards were updated at this lovely home to make room for hot tub in the back and create low maintenance gardens in the front. The backyard redesign included a new patio, privacy screens, expanded deck steps, a built in planter, gardens and a new gate. The built in planter creates privacy for the hot tub area and adds more green space. A zen like feel was created in the back with the custom horizontal screens and the plant choices like northern sea oats and a weeping Japanese maple.
The mishmash and weedy front gardens were replaced with a simple modern design of rows of different ornamental grasses and flowering perennials like sedum and Russian sage. Columnar purple beech trees were added along the east perimeter for privacy from the neighbour's driveway.
