Elements of Design
I couldn't agree more with Steve Jobs' mantra: "Design is How it Works".
To follow are elements designed to overcome challenges while highlighting the spirit of a place and accenting its uniqueness.
Exciting details often arise as site-specific solutions to problems such as necessary level changes, drainage issues, the need for height in a large border, to hide something like Ac units or PVD pipes, create privacy, or controlling water from roof run-off. Interesting-looking walkways and paths develop because they lead someplace specific, reflect that destination and fit the site. Deck shapes need to compliment the house, afford easy access and enjoyiment.
