Energy Mill Office Complex

Ambler Design, designed and constructed the building entry and surrounding landscapes at the new net-zero office building in Waterbury, conceived and constructed by Brendan O'Reilly and Gristmill Builders. The building is tucked into a hillside, which wraps around and provides a unique entry landscape. The setting led to a simple and functional design for workers and visitors alike.

Native apple and birch trees planted along the entrance reflect those remnant species found throughout the site from earlier generations. Extensive meadow plantings along with pea stone paving at the building edge, help minimize runoff and handle storm water. Ambler Design.

Ambler Design manipulated the slopes to create an entry stair that winds up the gentle slope, surrounded by native boulders, perennial gardens and unique stone benches.
