For Mr. & Mrs. Smith
This was a small extension and renovation project we did for two great clients. It is an example of how one can restore a dilapidated single fronted weatherboard house from its former glory. We kept the bones of the house, added bathrooms and ensuite, the Lean-tos were demolished and a new open living space to the north was added, which brought light and warmth into living spaces. Space-warping rooms were re-stumped, walls straightened, floor replaced with renewable Bamboo and open up the house to the backyard.
This is quite a common scenario for many inner city houses of the same era. By using solar passive design principles, and conscientious building method, this renovation had returned a dilapidated house into a 7 star house!
